Q: What are the hours of operation for chaperones?

The most common hours of operation for travel students are between the hours of 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Our coverage times can be adjusted at your request.

Q: What is an evening chaperone agent?

Student Watchers agents are responsible for supervising and safeguarding students during evening or night time tours or events to include in hotels, at resorts and camping grounds. Chaperones provide services during after hours (between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM). For more information on other service locations, please contact us.

Q: What cities are you available in?

We service all 50 states.

Q: Is there a group size limit? If so, how many people?

There is no minimum group size necessary to retain our services. However we recommend a 30:1 student to agent ratio to assure that the safety needs of the students are met.

Q: Is STUDENT WATCHERS Insured?

As the choice provider for evening chaperone service, we sustain a $2 million insurance policy and are bonded up to $100,000.

Q: How do I reserve a chaperone for my group?

Our client reservation page allows schools, hotels and student tour companies to reserve our service 24/7 anywhere in the territories that we currently service. Simply click on the client reservation link at the top of the home page and complete a new user profile. Complete the necessary information to secure your tour group reservation. A confirmation will be sent immediately to the email address utilized with the reservation details. Please be sure to check your spam folder in the event the confirmation isnít visible in your inbox.

You will also be contacted by an account representative who will re-confirm the details of your reservation. Your username and pass code will allow you to access to the site anytime, anywhere to view or modify your reservation, update your profile, make payments or view alerts.

Q. How can I edit or cancel my reservation?

If you wish to cancel or amend your reservation, simply log into your client account, select the reservation manager tab, locate the jobsite location you wish to cancel and click delete. It is imperative that you cancel within 72 hours of booking.

Q: If I forget my username or password how can I retrieve this information?

If you forget your username or password, click on the Forgot your password link by accessing the client reservation tab at the top of the home page. Details will be provided as to how to retrieve the information.

Q. Are online transactions secure?

All the information you provide, including your credit card information, is secured using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology. We use SSL technology to prevent your information from being intercepted and read as it is transmitted over the Internet. We DO NOT store your payment information.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all forms of payment to include Master Card, Visa, American Express, Discover and e-check.

Q: What is the difference between a Student Watchers agent and a Security Guard?

Student Watchers agentsí have expertise in the Student Travel industry. Our chaperones are CPR/First Aid certified, at least 25 years of age, members of the SYTA and ABA organizations and 100% insured and bonded.

A Security Guard is a person who is paid to protect property, assets or people. The minimum age required is 18 years old. They offer no guarantee of full insurance and coverage and are not well versed with the student tour population.

Q: What are the rates for a Student Watchers agent?

Our rate plans are designed to provide the best services and price for each client. Rates vary based on geographic location. A Student Watchers account representative will share the rate plan options with you to ensure that you receive the rate that fits your needs.

Q: How do I apply to become an agent?

Step 1: Complete Profile Application
Step 2: If approved, a background check will be completed (Employees must successfully pass the background check to be considered for employment).
Step 3: If approved, the employee will partake in the Student Watchers Agent Training program.
Step 4: After successfully completing the Training program, the agentís account is activated on the website so that they can begin booking job assignments.

Q: What type of training is provided?

Agents receive a total of 20 hours of training to include an 8 hour pre-assignment training, 8 hours of OJT, and 4 hours of annual refresher courses.

Q: How can an agent amend his/her schedule?

An agent can amend his or her availability by logging into their account via the Agent portal on the website and clicking on the Calendar tab. If a schedule needs to be changed in less than 48 hours, please contact your manager. Agents should aim to contact a Manager in 48 hours prior to the job assignment.

Q: Any Referral incentives?

We have a robust Agent Referral program to reward our employees for their loyalty and level of service (see The Student Watchers Referral Program page for more information).

Q: What is the Late/Tardies policy?

STUDENT WATCHERS expects its agent to be responsible for getting to work as scheduled and to follow the appropriate procedures for notifying supervisors of absences and/or tardiness. An agent whose absences or tardiness is deemed by the Human Resources Administrator to be excessive may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Excessive absences or tardiness is among those performance factors considered in agent performance evaluations.

If a job is cancelled 48 hours before start of service, there will be no penalization. Additionally, any agent who fails to contact STUDENT WATCHERS management regarding an absence for any reason for two consecutive jobs will be considered to have abandoned his or her position and he or she will no longer be considered a STUDENT WATCHERS agent.
